Beautiful floral patterned tooled leather trimmed and stitched with a heavy glazed water buffalo leather banding detail and adorned with solid raw brass 1 ½ inch spikes. The tailored elegance of the leather detailing gives the feeling of a finest italian leather bags, While the solid Brass spikes give the form a bit of relief while also giving the illusion of being “Naughty” or perhaps paying homage to the punk rock scene of the 1980’s. In the spirit of playfulness the artist added a small train for tiny solid brass ants crawling in line up the main section to add just a bit of life or fun without taking away from the chic aesthetic of the rich materials or moody form. All of the structure, connection rings, Hardware, and electrical components are solid raw brass. The fixture is crowned with a fluted tailored glazed leather drum. This was formed by weaving it through 2 solid raw brass rings creating the dynamic shape. The fixture sits on a brass disk on top of a 2"inch black and brown noir polished stone base. In a nut shell , the artist was trying to capture the dichotomy of elegance, and playfulness.
