A monumental study in mineral, light, and texture, this exceptional illuminated sculpture brings together translucent agate, faceted smoky quartz, hand-selected gemstones, and art glass in a composition that celebrates the extraordinary beauty of natural materials.
The sculptural elements rise from an impressive elongated block of terrazzo, its surface revealing an intricate geological landscape of semi-precious gemstones and art glass. Embedded within the terrazzo are geodes sourced from the Wind River Basin of Wyoming and Southern Montana, each cut in half and carefully arranged to create a dynamic yet inherently organic focal point. The exposed aggregate is meticulously revealed and diamond-polished by the Artist, bringing extraordinary depth, variation, and tactile richness to the surface.
Impressively scaled and distinctly architectural, the long rectangular form is ideally suited as a commanding focal point atop a console, chest, or entry credenza—an object that functions equally as sculptural art and atmospheric illumination.
